Rusty Heddles Co.

I've been weaving again. I'm getting excited for the future project, Rusty Heddles Co., originally devised by Astrid and me back in college. Get pumped. We are making inventory.

New Studio

Here is a glimpse of what I have been working on and where I have been working. The new apartment is great and I love my new studio.

Collaboration - and moving on...

tanya.diana1

I am starting a collaborative project with friend and artist, Tanya Bindra. Here is something I made in my sketchbook. I don't know what will come out of it. All I know is that I need to get out of my comfort zone.

I am hoping to start making artwork regularly again. I haven't made anything really new in about a year. Now that graduate school is over, the wedding is over, and I'm moving to a new apartment with room for a studio...I have no excuse.

I'm also going to start building a website.

I finished a new piece today...

This took about a month to complete. I worked with a fountain pen. 24 x 18 inches.
I am afraid of failure. This is how I deal.

Recently...

circle weaving2

I finally finished the above weaving and took it off my little metal loom. I intend on making a new one on there.
I haven't been making much artwork of my own. I now have three part-time jobs and have been doing a lot of wedding planning things. Also, applying for full-time teaching jobs is time-consuming and very competitive.
I hope I finish my most recent drawing this week so that I can post it.

Winter

DSC_0185 I finished graduate school. I have been spending most of my time planning for the wedding in May. I have begun the job hunt for an art teaching position. 2013 is going to be a big year. I have started some drawings and things, nothing I am terribly proud of, but I am getting back into the swing of making artwork of my own. Hopefully this will become a more regular occurrence. Hopefully I can get back to the larger scale that I was happy working with....two and a half years ago now. I am trying not to let winter make me blue.
